THE FORTHCOMING ALL-female reboot of Ghostbusters has caused nothing but controversy since it was announced last year.
Whether it’s people (read: men) getting wound up about the film supposedly tarnishing the legacy of the original, accusing the ladies involved of not being funny or pledging to boycott it, it seems that it just can’t win.
Yesterday, Dan Aykroyd, who co-wrote and starred in the original, revealed on Facebook that he had seen the remake and gave it his blessing.
“Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first two films,” he wrote.

People absolutely tore into Dan Aykroyd for praising the new Ghostbusters remake
THE FORTHCOMING ALL-female reboot of Ghostbusters has caused nothing but controversy since it was announced last year.
Whether it’s people (read: men) getting wound up about the film supposedly tarnishing the legacy of the original, accusing the ladies involved of not being funny or pledging to boycott it, it seems that it just can’t win.
Yesterday, Dan Aykroyd, who co-wrote and starred in the original, revealed on Facebook that he had seen the remake and gave it his blessing.

You would think that a warm vote of confidence from one of the franchise’s creators would silence some of the film’s detractors.
Unfortunately you would be wrong.
Instead people gave out to Aykroyd for “s**tting on” the original
You do realise he wrote it, guys?
And accused the filmmakers of only making the film “for money”
A film being made for money — imagine that?
While others went down the “Won’t somebody think of the children?” route
